Antivirus XP 2010 browser problems?

Posted under Registry Repair Software by admin

I recently got the antivirus xp 2010 virus on my computer on March 16th. i was able to use antivirus softwares like Malware Bytes and Super AntiSpyware to detect the corrupt files and quarantine or fix the problems.Thankfully since then i dont get any pop ups and have gotten rid of the virus. However since trying to fix the problem i cannot open any of my browsers; Internet Explorer, Firefox or even Google Chrome.all other .exe files work on my computer but none of the internet browsers will open whatsoever. My task manager displays them once ive clicked them but the actual browsers do not show up. I have tried the to repair the registry with the "FixExe" registry that has been posted alot online but still no luck. Can anyone figure out how to get my internet browsers to open?
By the way when i meant that i cant open browsers i really meant that i cannot open any single internet browser.I still have internet connection on my system.

  1. Ed G Said,

One thing you may want to check is how your computer connects to the Internet. Those setting my have been changed by your threat. Go to Internet Options, then look in the Connections tab, then Lan setting.

  2. Jim Said,

It is because the antivirus software cleaned some important files of the operating system. Can you restore your computer to the previous normal working condition? If not, you can try the solution below:

1.Click "Start"menu, point to "all programs"–>"attachment", open "Resource Manager " under attachment, click "Tools", "Folder Options", click "Text Type" tab, then click the "New establish" button and enter the file extension ". exe" (without the quotation mark), Click "Advanced ‘button, in the "associated file type ‘, choose" Application ".

You’d better have some software that can create a restore point for your computer, thus you only need to restore your computer to the previous normal working condition in case it crashes instead of losing all the things. RegistryMum may help you. You can visit http://www.registrymum.com to know more about it. Good luck.

  3. Computer Doc Said,

It looks like you need to do a repair install to get your system back to normal.

In general you want to do a repair install and NOT use the repair console.

Detailed instructions for a repair install are here http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm He also describes how to create an XP disk with the service pack included easily.

If you can no longer do a repair install or find it too complicated, DO NOT reformat and reinstall as this will wipe you out and leave you with nothing but the operating system. You would have to reinstall all your programs and much of your data would be inaccessible.

Reimage can repair your system even if a repair install fails. It costs a little but it is well worth it to save your data. It takes about 30 minutes and preserves your programs and data. If you are not happy with the results, you don’t have to pay and you can reverse any changes that it made.
