What is the best registry repair/cleaner to use on a personal computer?
Use CCleaner. Other "full" registry cleaners either have you purchase it to remove the entries, or cause more harm than good. CCleaner cleans like 10 things that would be safe to delete. A smart thing to do is to not install something you’ll delete down the road. Stick with the same thing, and after you clean your registry and you don’t install and uninstall programs your computer will be faster. Also CCleaner is a 4 in 1 tool. Registry Cleaner, Disk Cleaner, Start Up Manager, Add or Remove Programs. And also you can go in there and delete old system restore points. So it’s like a 5 in 1 tool. Stick with CCleaner. The worse thing to do is to get something and possibly ruining your windows system. Other registry cleaners could delete stuff you may need, like entries for a program you haven’t used in a while, then when you clean it, and you need the program, you won’t be able to access it. And cleaning a lot of your registry could hurt your computer and make it slower. That’s why I stick with CCleaner. And unless you absolutely know what you’re doing, don’t even mess with regedit, or other registry cleaners.
Also, CCleaner allows you to make backups before you delete entries, just in case something goes wrong.
Info from the website:
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware!
The only one I’ve used for the past 3+ years is CCleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com
Hi There,
I use CCleaner and Glary Utilities for removing junk/temp files and bad registry keys.
Be sure to take advantage of the "save changes" options; just in case of a problem.
After using for two years have had no problems from a corrupt registry.
Some registry cleaners can corrupt the registry so much you will need to reinstall your operating system so be very careful.
Hope this helps,
Al

I personally use Ccleaner….. But never for the registry!!
Ccleaner includes a Registry cleaner, but I advise not to use this or any registry cleaner as there have been reports of them clearing out needed registry entries and messing up PCs. In addition, what they do clean up is so small that little or no advantages are noticed.
I agree with using ccleaner, because it is the safest one and does a good job. I only use the reg-cleaner tool in ccleaner while being in safe mode…
Many people prefer a free one like famous Ccleaner
Such a free registry software, with not bad quality, becomes the first choice to them.
If you just seek a psychological comfort, just download one here http://www.ccleaner.com
For people like me, who think that cleanning up registry plays an important role in speeding up computers, choose to use a more professional one.
You can take a look at the article named Free Registry Cleaner Review: Top 6 Windows Registry Cleaners. It makes a comparison among 6 different registry cleaner software. You can make dicision after reading that.http://www.system-tools-software.com/knowledge/free-registry-cleaner-software-boost-pc-speed-performance.html

I use America’s favorite Registry Utility called "Registry Easy.it’s not Free but i find it works great for my PC,
for more information about registry utility you can read my article here :

There are plenty of tools out there which do a good job – it just depends on what you want it to do for your PC.
You could use the free tools such as CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com) but they don’t find many registry errors. They are just good for a general cleanup.
If you want a powerful cleaner you’ll want to use a tool such as RegCure which you can see at http://www.fastregistryfixes.com/best_registry_cleaner_tools.html
There are some others as well.
