It’s because the programs are written differently is the simplest explanation.

I’ve got both as well and have the same thing as you.

But I’m more inclined to believe Reg Mechanic because that is a paid for program and CCleaner is a free one.

why you need registry cleaner?

don’t mess with registry if you don’t know which one you can remove or you will end up re installing your operating system

You ran two different types of software that do different things. While CCleaner can be useful for clearing out unnecessary files, I wouldn’t describe it as a registry tool.

hate those registry cleaners, i try to avoid them even when things are bad,
They always disable my personal settings for security alerts back to default and also my personal settings on auto sign-in on all my instant messengers

Different registry cleaners use different algorithms to search the registry for "problems" – that’s why you get differing results. Try scanning with registry mechanic two or three times.

As u know, different registry cleaners r from different companies.
Their scan methods r different. So they get different results. Just like computers, they r all computers, but they r different.

All, registry cleaners are a complete waste of time. Ccleaner as has been mentioned will delete unnecessary files but, it is not, a Registry cleaner. I suggest that you download a PDF book on the subject and you will greatly benefit from the knowledge that you will gain.

Well you’re going to get two answers here.

Most people will tell you to use the free cleaner "CCleaner" which u can get from http://www.ccleaner.com – but this is BAD because it just tries to find as many problems as possible to make itself look good (why else would it be free)?

You need to be careful with the regsitry because it’s a crucial part of your system. If you screw up one of the important files inside it, you’re going to have BIG problems down the line… so you need to be sure the registry cleaner you use will be as "delicate" as possible with your PC.
