   No it cant. Theres a reason that when you search google for registry cleaners they are all spam sites.

   People will recommend ccleaner but unless they can tell you what your registry is and why it needs cleaning dont listen to them (nobody can, i have asked this a lot and people cant answer)

   The only way they will increase your PCs speed is when they mess up your windows installation and you have to reinstall everything. It will be faster then.

   1, Your registry is just a list so each entry is a few bits or bytes. Deleting 1000 unused entries might at best cut a few nanoseconds of the time windows takes to boot.

   2, No registry entry is used unless you click a program or its in your very short list of startup programs in msconfig. So extra ones just do nothing like an unused word document on your pc might. So they wont slow anything down.
