Can anyone give me advice on script errors on my pc?

Recently I have been having tons of script errors on my pc. On some web sites a box pops up saying "there’s been a script error on this page", "continue running scripts?, click yes or no." Other issues include trying to verify my Mcafee virus subscription. When I log in to my Mcafee account I get a screen that says Activex error with solutions on how to fix it. When I follow the instructions, it still doesn’t work. Lastly I am having a problem with Macromedia Flash Player. When I try to play something that uses Flash player I am told I need to donwload/install it, but when I go to do that I am told it is already installed on my computer. However flash player does work on one of the Windows XP accounts on the computer just not the other two. If I bought registry repair software, would that help any of this? This is so frustrating, please help!

Are registry repair/cleaners safe to download and use?

I am having RUNDLL errors ~ also I removed my CD burner software and when I tried to reinstall, it says that a version has been found and I need to remove it, but when I click to remove, the install stops. When contacted "support" it says to remove it from the registry but that scares me to mess with it!

Is there a way to manually repair a registry key?

I have been infected with the XP Antirivus 2008 virus, and despite spending 4 days reading and re-reading about the manual removal, I just can’t get rid of it. I don’t have a real antivirus program other than AVG. I have downloaded both Spyware Doctor and Search and Destroy on the advice of other people in this forum and on the internet, but I can’t buy either copies — which means that I am manually deleting files.

Spyware Doctor has informed me that several of the registry keys require "repair." I am presuming that outright deleting them will be a bad idea.

So, is there something that I can do to manually repair the registry keys affected by the virus, or can I just delete them?

PS. Everytime I try to download CCleaner, Tuneup2008, etc… Please, don’t recommend anymore downloads!!!
I said "no downloads" is because every time I open a new window it is replaced with an ad instead of the page I wanted to view — which means that I can type all kinds of links and addresses, but the legitimate sites never turn up, they are replaced by ads. Backspace will not work to go back to the legit site.

Further, on occasions where this doesn’t happen and I CAN download a program, when I open it, I am ALWAYS told that the setup files have been corrupted.

So - My computer won’t let me open webpages that include ANY keywords or meta tags regarding viruses, and almost NO antivirus programs can even be installed on my computer after download because supposedly ‘corrupted’ - including malwarebytes.

This is the only reason I’m resorting to manual repair.

I have purchased and returned three different registry repair programs for vista they do not work some of them delete their own addon software. some just do not work. some delete your media player and games. so save your money and time do not buy them I think they are scams.
I tried uniblue, registry fix, and regcure.

Old Laptop in need of registry repair, viruses, running slowly (pop-ups) any suggestions?

I am interested in attempting to repair my moms old laptop from work that is no longer used. It runs on Novel software i think because she worked in a school system.
