How Can I Replace My Registry?
Posted under Registry Repair Software by adminI had to send my computer in for repair and now many of my keys for programs are gone from my registry. Every time i try to replace the software portion of the registry it tells me it is in use and cant be deleted/replaced. Any way to get the registry back?
i am very comfortable with using the registry i just need to find a way to get some old registry stuff back
The problem isnt that my registry isnt working properly it is i need to get some keys from the old registry
do a system restore. do not mess with the registry unless you are very comfortable with it. that is one area of your computer NOT to mess with if you are insecure about it in the least. if you delete something you need you can kill your computer pretty successfully in no time flat.
Thats not how the registry works.
Did you happen to have any backup files? If not, I would suggest reinstalling the original O.S. software( XP/Vista/Linux). It may update the registry or repair it safely. I tried online registry repair, and my computer wound up like yours. When I reinstalled XP, I chose UPGRADE, not Clean Install. The computer worked fine afterward. I hope this works for you.
