How to repair accidentally deleted: userinit.exe from registry!!! pls help!!!?

Posted under Registry Repair by admin

hello, i recently help remove IMGKULOT from my friend’s laptop using the same process i used to remove TAGA LIPA ARE from my pc, because they are more or less the same type of virus. HOWEVER, wen i told him to scan for all traces of imgkulot in his registry & delete it, he accidentally deleted the "userinit.exe" & when he restarted his pc, everytime he logs in, it automatically logs off. now there’s no way he can access his pc. what do you suggest we do? he needs his files because he’s a teacher & all his students’ grades are in his laptop. he doesn’t care if he has to tear his laptop down just to retrieve his files. please help us. i feel kinda responsible for his loss. u can rply here or email me at neo_drumz@yahoo.com. any advise or help will surely be appreciated. thank you very much!
he deleted only the registry field not the file

Did your friend just delete the registry entry, or the actual userinit.exe file.

If they deleted the file then you should be able to use the recovery console to get your system back.

To do this, put the Windows CD into the CD-drive and reboot the system. The system should boot up from the CD-rom.

When a windows has started on the laptop, press the R key. This should take you into the recovery console. It will ask you for the Administrator password and then give you a command screen.

    Once there, you type

    D:press [ENTER]
    CD I386 press [ENTER]
    EXPAND USERINIT.EX_ C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 press [ENTER]

This will extract userinit.exe from the CD-rom and put it into the right place on the PC’s hard-drive.

You can then reboot the system and should be able to login.
