Step 3. This is the final step that allows you to repair Windows XP registry effectively. This step entails the usage of software programs that specialize in repairing Windows XP registry. There are many programs that you can choose from in the market. The main purpose that they serve is the scanning of your system to locate files that are empty, broken, and corrupted. Once these files are located, you can then proceed to deleting them. Another great thing about these programs is that they let you create backups for your settings and files as well.
