I cannot seem to login in my computer ever since i cleaned up the registry, can anyone pliz help??

Posted under Registry Repair by admin

My computer had been sending up various ads whenever i went online so i went to PC world and downloaded a adware and registry cleaner. Indeed they helped and my system ran a lot faster but one every now and then the registry cleaner would keep track of any unknow entries. I just deleated them and now i cannot login to windows anymore. Evertime i type my password and press enter it starts loading but then immediately logs off. I remember being unable to open any applications or programs that day that it first did that and when i restarted my laptop it just wouldn’t load. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can repair this or do i need to reboot?

  1. dze Said,

yes cleaning the registry is always a dangerous proposition ..

  2. CPU Said,

reboot into safe mode, as soon as the computer powers on keep pressing F8

  3. andy t Said,

start in safe mode and log in as administrator
go to start run and type in msconfig
launch system restore and choose a date prior to messing with the registry [only bold dates hold restore points]
next time back up your registry before messing!
    good luck

The system restore advice is really good. System restore will bring your computer back to the state it was at whatever date you specify to have it restored to. Whenever a major event on your computer occurs, such as a software installation or if you install certain hardware, the computer will create a system restore point. Your computer will return to the state that it was at that restore point (the one you specify) and you will retain your data.

It’s a really nice feature of Windows XP.

Go into Safe Mode by pressig F8 at before Windows loads (the black screen). Once you’re logged into safe mode, go to Start> All Programs> Accessories>System Tools> System Restore.

You can repair it if you had made backup of registry before using registry cleaner (or if you lucky, you may have undo or restore registry functions on your registry cleaner program).

One should use registry cleaner only as last resort for computer where you have done lot of install and uninstall programs and has resulted in slowing it down. Don’t use it for fun as you can see it has mess up your computer. Let me explain in layman terms. Registry cleaner is like morphine. Only in emergency like wounded soldier or dying man, it is given to them to kill the pain or relax them. But if healthy young people start taking it for relaxation, you understand the consequence of it. Similarly registry cleaner is for computer that have slowed down considerably and you don’t want to reinstall operating system.

So only option left is – restore registry (if possible) or reinstall windows in your laptop.

Boot to safe mode (tap F8 as the system boots up) and perform a system restore.

if you made a restore point before using cleaner it should be easy.
turn on or restart pressing f8 until black screen choices appear ,using arrow keys move screen choice to safe mode.enter and find restore.restore to a point close BEFORE
    reg. cleaner was used.
restore and wait a bit.the longer ago the longer to wait.apx Minuit a day ?
sign in and use proper methods for using your computer.
look in help and support for maintenance
