Your problem stems probably from a much deeper issue, like a corrupt or missing DLL. You may even have a bad sector on the hard drive. The best thing you can do is to reinstall your operating system. If you don't have a disc put Linux on it. Try Xubuntu, it will run on anything and be fast.
