There are MANY reasons for computer slow downs:
not enough memory
too many programs starting up with windows at boot up time
too many junk files
too many restore points
Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software’s, install new devices,
download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
Clean registry make pc faster.

Did you have a firewall? If no better get one. I don’t recommend cleaning the registry as some important entries may be deleted and cause your computer to crash. Try to defrag your your computer using Auslogics Disk Defrag from http://www.auslogics.com
Trojan horses are, simply put it, programs that enters your computer without your knowledge and plants itself inside your computer. It can do harm to your computer if it activates.
Cheers.
If you have had the computer for a while, it may just be your RAM. Check your system tray, (look bottom right next to time), if there is alot of icons, your computer is running alot of programs in the background, all demanding some time from your processor. You can end theese from the "processes" tab in task manager, but they will start up next time you turn on. You can change what programs start up via software, or you can do it manually by accesing the registry. As i dont have time to explain that at the moment, i suggest googling it.
(or Yahooing it)
Anyway, You may want to purchase some more RAM, if you have under 1GB. Also, if you are running VISTA and have 1GB, i would suggest getting more, as VISTA in itself uses almost 1GB up.
You could also try defraging your drive, if reading and writing is particualry slow. You can find a disk defragmenter in your system tools.
Lasty, a TROJAN is a type of virus. It is named after the Trojan Horse the greeks used to get into Troy. The Trojan horse appeared to be a gift, and so the trojans allowed it into thier city. But once the horse was inside, greeks came from inside the horse and the result was a burnt down Troy.
So applying this to the trojan virus: It is software that appears to be safe at first, and so you download them, and then once they are inside your computer they wreak havok.
You will probally want to run a full system check for viruses from your antivirus software, as alothough it spotted theese two, more may have slipped past. This may be the reason your computer is slowing down, although the chances are it would be a "worm" virus.
P.S. Sorry about my spelling, i hope you can understand it all.
