Computer Running Slow? Here’s How To Speed It Up (Windows XP & Vista)

Posted under Registry Cleaner

I take it that you are interested in making your slow computer faster. I’ll let you in on a little secret: tune your virtual memory. Your computer has something called a hard drive which it uses to store files on and something called your RAM (Random Access Memory) that it uses to work with files and programs temporarily. When your computer turns off, the information that was on the hard drive will still be there when you turn it back on, but the information on your RAM will be gone. That’s why it’s a temporary working place.

The name for this space on your hard drive is called a Paging File and is what you need to “tune” if you want to make your slow computer a bit faster. Your paging file is designed to be two different sizes that it moves in between: the Initial Size and the Maximum Size. Since these two sizes are constantly changing it causes your paging file to work inefficiently. All you have to do is to just make your paging file the same size and it will help you make your slow computer faster. Here’ what to do:

If you using Windows XP, click Start, right click My Computer and select Properties. Click on the Advanced tab and then under the section that says Performance, click on Settings. In this window, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Look under where it says “Drive [Volume Label]” and make sure that C: is selected (it should be highlighted blue). Now look under Page file size for selected drive and select Custom Size.

Where it says “Total page file size for all drives section” look at the amount that says Recommended. What ever number it says is recommended, type that into both boxes where it says Initial Size and Maximum Size. Click Set and then Ok. Then Click Apply on the next window and OK.

If you are using Windows Vista, click Start, click on Control Panel, on the left hand side make sure Classic View is selected and then double click on the System icon. On the left side of the window, click on the Advanced System Settings. Click on the Advanced tab and then under the section that says Performance, click on Settings. In this window, click on the Advanced tab and under Virtual Memory, click Change. Uncheck the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drivers”. Click Set, then Ok and then on the next window click on Apply and then OK.

So You Have A Slow Computer? Here Is A Technique To Make It Faster (And It Doensn’t Involve Registry Cleaners)

Posted under Registry Cleaner

Have you ever actually thought about what is slowing down your computer? Well I’ll let you in on a little secret – it has to do with your operating system and how it runs. As much as your computers operating system tires to be faster it really just doesn’t get the job done. What happens is that your comptuer will start to slow down within time. Why? Well, one of the biggest things is that after using your computer for a few months junk start to build up on it.

By junk I mean useless files that simply just don’t get deleted. One of the best ways to make your computer faster is to simply remove some of this junk and then your computer will run faster again. The more junk that you have on your computer, the slower it will perform. So what’s the best way to remove this junk? Simple regular maintenance.

So where do you start? One of the best places to start is with your hard drive. Your hard drive stores all of your files and if it fails, then you loose all of your files. This is why keeping your hard drive in a healthy state is critical. To do this we are going to use a programs that comes build into Windows.

Click Start, open My Computer (if your using Vista just click on Computer), right click on the C: and select Properties. In the Properties window, select the Tools tab and then click on the Check Now button. In the Check Disk window, select “Automatically Fix File System Errors” and also select “Scan For And Attempt To Recover For Bad Sectors”. Click start and if it says that you need to perform a restart, just restart your computer and when you come back it will launch the program.

What this program is really doing is it is looking at the different parts of your hard drive to see which parts have problems like bad clusters or bad sectors. Then what it does is it will try and fix these problems before they grow into larger problems that might endanger the hard drive. Most of these problems arise from common things like not turning off your computer properly or even your computer freezing. I suggest doing this about once a month to get the most out of your hard drive and also to make your slow computer faster.

My Thoughts On Error Killer

Posted under Registry Cleaner

There are usually warning signs that your computer shows to tell you that there is something wrong with it.

These things are usually your computer’s way of telling you that something is up especially when all your programs seem to be working well and your hardware is up to date.

I have experience the same problem a few months back. In my effort to try and solve the problem, I installed an anti-virus software on my computer.

After doing a scan, it turned out that my system was clean. The next thing I tried was an anti-spyware software but I still got nothing which left me thinking that it must’ve been caused by my registry.

What is your registry? Your registry is that important part of your computer that stores all vital information that is required to keep your computer functioning.

One kind of vital information is the hardware details and the system settings that you have in your computer. Through time, these files get corrupted and cause errors.

This kind of dilemma isn’t worthy of purchasing a new computer. One really effective answer to the problem is to install a current and efficient registry cleaner in your computer.

There is an abundance of registry cleaners in the internet so you won’t have any issues finding one. As long as your registry cleaner contains the basics, you’ll be fine.

Error Killer is the registry cleaner that I used to solve my registry problems.

There are a lot of features that draw me to Error Killer but the one that really made me think about purchasing a copy is that I can select which of the errors I want to fix and which ones to retain. But of course, Error Killer may also fix all errors automatically.

Another feature that sealed the deal for me is the safety feature of Error Killer. It has a greatly effective back up and undo system built in.

This is a way to ensure that if things do not work out right, one can just restore the old settings.
