   I use CCleaner. It’s great for registry cleanup, scanning your drive for errors, and is a better uninstaller than the typical Add/Remove Programs from Windows. It’s also free, which is nice.

   It doesn’t defrag, but that’s not really needed anymore. If you do need to do it then you’re probably still stuck with Windows defragmenter.

   For registry cleaning, CCleaner is a good, free, popular choice. It not only cleans the registry but also gets rid of unnecessary files around your system (hence its name, CrapCleaner) such as history, various cache folders…etc. Good way to free up space.

   If you get the latest issue of Web User magazine it has a free cd containing a number of free software. I used the Advanced Systems Care 3 a great programme that will meet your needs.

   I found the Advanced System Cleaner by 10bit very useful. I got it free from Download .com.It does everything you need to do on your computer.I use it all the time to keep my system running to it’s best capability.
